【摘要】:TheVMEbusspecificationdefinesaninterfacingsystemusedtointerconnectmicroprocessors,datastorage,andperipheralcontroldevicesinacloselycoupledhardwareconfiguration.Thesystemhasbeenconceivedwiththefollowingobjectives:a)toallowcommunicationbetweendevicesontheVMEbuswithoutdisturbingtheinternalactivitiesofotherdevicesinterfacedtotheVMEbus;b)tospecifytheelectricalandmechanicalsystemcharacteristicsrequiredtodesigndevicesthatwillreliablyandunambiguouslycommunicatewithotherdevicesinterfacedtotheVMEbus;c)tospecifyprotocolsthatpreciselydefinetheinteractionbetweentheVMEbusanddevicesinterfacedtoit;d)toprovideterminologyanddefinitionsthatdescribethesystemprotocol;e)toallowabroadrangeofdesignlatitudesothatthedesignercanoptimizecostand/orperformancewithoutaffectingsystemcompatibility;f)toprovideasystemwhereperformanceisprimarilydevicelimited,ratherthansysteminterfacelimited.
