【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthedynamicelasticpropertiesofelasticmaterialsatambienttemperatures.Specimensofthesematerialspossessspecificmechanicalresonantfrequenciesthataredeterminedbytheelasticmodulus,mass,andgeometryofthetestspecimen.Thedynamicelasticpropertiesofamaterialcanthereforebecomputedifthegeometry,mass,andmechanicalresonantfrequenciesofasuitable(rectangularorcylindricalgeometry)testspecimenofthatmaterialcanbemeasured.DynamicYoung'smodulusisdeterminedusingtheresonantfrequencyineithertheflexuralorlongitudinalmodeofvibration.Thedynamicshearmodulus,ormodulusofrigidity,isfoundusingtorsionalresonantvibrations.DynamicYoung'smodulusanddynamicshearmodulusareusedtocomputePoisson'sratio.1.2Althoughnotspecificallydescribedherein,thistestmethodcanalsobeperformedatcryogenicandhightemperatureswithsuitableequipmentmodificationsandappropriatemodificationstothecalculationstocompensateforthermalexpansion.1.3TherearematerialspecificASTMstandardsthatcoverthedeterminationofresonancefrequenciesandelasticpropertiesofspecificmaterialsbysonicresonanceorbyimpulseexcitationofvibration.TestMethodsC215,C623,C747,C848,C1198,andC1259maydifferfromthistestmethodinseveralareas(forexample;samplesize,dimensionaltolerances,samplepreparation).Thetestingofthesematerialsshallbedoneincompliancewiththesematerialspecificstandards.Wherepossible,theprocedures,samplespecificationsandcalculationsareconsistentwiththesetestmethods.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
